NZPFU Issues Notice Of One-Hour Strike On 14 November 2025
NZPFU has now issued notices for one-hour full stoppages/strikes from 12 noon for Friday the 7th and Friday the 14th November.
NZPFU and FENZ head back to bargaining on Monday for three days.
The strike notices are necessary to keep the pressure on FENZ to come to the table with a revised offer that makes sufficient progress on the issues raised through bargaining.
Below is the joint statement the parties agreed when we met in mediation (resulting from FENZ’s application for facilitation) last week:
Joint Statement of NZPFU and Fire and Emergency
The NZPFU and Fire and Emergency met in mediation today which was part of the facilitation application process.
The Parties have agreed to reconvene bargaining for the 3rd, 4th and 5th November 2025 in Christchurch.
The NZPFU has agreed to withdraw the strike notified for 31st October but has indicated a strike notice for the 7th November will be issued.
Depending on the progress of bargaining on the 3rd, 4th and 5th the NZPFU will consider withdrawing the strike on the 7th and any other notified strike, and FENZ will consider withdrawing its application for facilitation.
Both parties welcome the return to the bargaining table and both are committed to productive discussions in an attempt to conclude the negotiations.
As agreed, the NZPFU withdrew the notification of the one-hour stoppage on 31st October 2025.
Last week, the NZPFU issued a new strike notice for a one-hour stoppage from 12 noon on Friday 7th November.
Today we issued the strike notice for the one-hour stoppage from 12 noon on 14th November 2025.
