Overnight Works To Install Electronic Signage SH20 - Portage Road Overbridge

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) advises that a new overhead electronic sign will be installed on an existing gantry near Portage Road overbridge in November, which will require night-time closures.

Work will be carried out between 10pm and 5am, from Sunday 2 to Wednesday 26 November, excluding Friday and Saturday nights.

We will be strengthening the existing gantry before installing the electronic sign. There will be a combination of northbound and southbound closures as well as lane restrictions. In late November we will be putting in a full closure in both directions for up to three nights to complete works. A full programme can be found at www.nzta.govt.nz/asm/upcoming-maintenance.

When the closures are in, please follow the signposted detour:

- Southbound detour to Puhinui Road on-ramp via Massey Road, Buckland Road, Portage Road, Station Road, Wyllie Road and Puhinui Road.

- Northbound detour to Massey Road via Puhinui Road, Wyllie Road, Station Road, Portage Road, Buckland Road and Massey Road.

This work is weather dependent and may change from advertised dates. We recommend checking NZTA Journey Planner before you travel.

Properties nearby may experience increased noise levels from machinery and vehicles. We appreciate it will be disruptive for road users and the community and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding while we complete this essential work.
