SH6 Reopens After Hedge Fire On Roadside

State Highway 6/Winton-Lorneville Highway near Invercargill has reopened after a roadside hedge fire forced its closure earlier this evening.
The highway was closed at Makarewa, between Counsell Road and Orion Road East. Emergency services were working at the site of the fire.
Detours were available via Orion Road East, Minerva Road and Counsell Road.
While the road is now open again, people are asked to travel with care in this area.
