Free Buses For Santa Parade
Otago Regional Council (ORC) is providing free buses for people heading to and from the Dunedin Santa Parade on Sunday, 30 November.
People travelling into the city centre to watch the parade and back home again can catch a free ride on all Dunedin bus routes from 1pm to 6pm.
To travel for free, passengers will need to tell the bus driver they’re going to or from the parade. They will not need to tag on or off with their Bee Card.
ORC’s Transport Portfolio Lead Alan Somerville says roads will be busy and car parks hard to find in the centre city, so people are being urged to use Orbus services.
“For a much more relaxing day, we’re recommending people travel into the city on the bus. They’ll need to allow at least an hour to arrive in plenty of time for the parade,” says Cr Somerville.
