No Water Restrictions For Tauranga This Summer
There will be no water restrictions in place in Tauranga this coming summer, but we’re still encouraging the community to continue to make wise choices about using water.
With our third water treatment plant operating since 2022, we now have a more flexible and resilient water supply. That means, unlike the past three years, restrictions won’t be needed.
Residents are encouraged to continue making responsible choices, such as watering gardens wisely and regularly checking for leaks, but are now able to complete tasks like residential water blasting.
Tauranga’s Water Watchers Programme is transitioning from seasonal restrictions to an emphasis on ongoing, responsible water use. Council will continue to monitor water demand and source water stream levels closely, and restriction requirements may be reinstated if necessary.
