Water Conservation Level 1 - Levin And Ōhau
Horowhenua District Council advises that Water Conservation Level 1 is in place for Levin, Ōhau, Foxton and Foxton Beach from Monday 15 December 2025 until further notice.
Watering private gardens
- Soaker hoses and garden sprinklers may only be used from 5am to 7am and from 7pm to 9pm on alternate days as follows:
- houses with even street numbers on even dates
- houses with odd numbers on odd dates
- Handheld hoses, watering cans or buckets can be used at any time.
- No restrictions on private bore water.
Cleaning paved areas
- Hosing paved areas is prohibited unless cleaning is required as a result of an accident, fire, health hazard, or other emergency.
Filling or topping up private swimming pools or spas
- All pools may be filled and / or topped up at any time.
Commercial customers
Commercial customers with very high water demand are advised to take all practicable measures to reduce water use and to contact Council before any major water use.
Thank you for doing your part to conserve water. Every drop counts, and these small changes can help us avoid Level 3 or 4 water restrictions.
