Foxton And Foxton Beach Move To Level 2 Water Level Conservation
This morning Foxton and Foxton Beach have been placed under Level 2 water conservation measures. Levin and Ōhau remain at Level 1 and Shannon and Tokomaru are not affected for now.
We move into Level 1 and 2 Water Conservation and Level 3 and 4 Water Restrictions when water demand increases and could exceed our available supply. In Levin and Ōhau we are required by our resource consent conditions to impose conservation/restriction measures once flow in the Ōhau River drops below certain prescribed volumes.
Water conservation measures cover such activities as watering gardens, cleaning paved areas, and filling swimming pools.
At Level 1 there are few changes to usual water consumption habits requested, and restrictions become more strict when we move into Level 3 and 4 restrictions.
