Supreme Court Rules On Students Case Against Government On Oil Exploration
Climate Clinic Aotearoa welcomes the Supreme Court’s long anticipated ruling in our case against the government, and thank the Court for the considered approach they took to our arguments.
We do not consider this judgment a loss. This case has made valuable and meaningful headway in actioning protections for the planet and its people.
We started this case as law students, and are now graduates working as lawyers and policymakers. This is the first of many breakthroughs we will headway for addressing climate change in Aotearoa and beyond.
We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for the support they have shown for some eager students’ pipe dream to take on the Government in a court of law.
