DCC To Pay Tribute To Late Former Mayor Jules Radich
The Dunedin City Council will come together to share tributes to the late former Mayor and Councillor Jules Radich, who died earlier this month.
The Council will hold a special meeting beginning at 3.30pm on Monday, 26 January 2026 with just one item on the agenda.
Mayor Sophie Barker says, “This meeting will give all Councillors a chance to pay tribute to Jules and share their own fondest memories of this wonderful man, who was sadly taken from us too soon over the holidays.
“It’s a chance for us to grieve our loss, but also to celebrate Jules' huge contribution to Dunedin and what he meant to us and our city as our valued and deeply missed colleague.”
The meeting will be held in public.
Jules served his first term as a Councillor between 2019 and 2022 before being elected the 59th Mayor of Dunedin. He served as Mayor until October 2025 and was then re-elected as a Councillor.
He died on 4 January 2026 and was farewelled on Friday 9 January at Dunedin’s First Church.
