Update: New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi Traffic Bulletin: SH8 Reopened After Crash
UPDATE: 16 January – SH8 reopened after crash
State Highway 8 between Clarks Flat Road and Waitahuna West Road, near Lawrence, has reopened this morning after a crash last night.
A 50km/h temporary speed restriction is in place, and people are asked to travel with care through the area.
15 January – Closure of SH8 in Otago after crash
Road users are asked to avoid the area or to follow a detour after a crash closed State Highway 8 near Lawrence in Otago.
SH8 is closed between Clarks Flat Road and Waitahuna West Road, an emergency services are working at the crash scene.
A detour is available for southbound traffic by turning right onto Clarks Flat Road, then left onto Waitahuna West Road, and back onto SH8. The reverse applies for northbound traffic. The detour is not suitable for heavy vehicles.
