SH90 Reopened After Flooding
UPDATE: 26 January, 10.30am – SH90 reopened after flooding
State Highway 90/Tapanui-Waikoikoi Road in Otago has reopened following an overnight closure because of flooding.
Road users are asked to take care travelling on this stretch of road between Tapanui and Waikoikoi.
25 January, 7.30pm – Overnight closure expected for SH90
State Highway 90 between Tapanui and Waikoikoi in Otago is expected to remain closed overnight due to the ongoing flooding situation.
A detour (outlined below) remains in place.
An update on the situation is expected tomorrow morning.
25 January, 4.30pm – Flooding closes SH90 in Otago
State Highway 90/Tapanui-Waikoikoi Road in Otago has been closed because of flooding.
A detour is in place: southbound traffic should turn right onto Station Road, continue onto Seddon Hill Road, then turn left onto Koi Road back onto SH90. The reverse applies for northbound traffic.
People should avoid the area or delay travel if they can.
