Major Water Main Break In Greerton And Closure Of Maleme Street
A major water main break on Maleme Street today has caused some discolouration in the water supply. Maleme Street is currently closed to traffic from Oropi Road. Traffic diversions are in place.
Affected areas by the water main break include properties from Greerton through to the CBD. This issue is expected to continue throughout the evening.
The water has been tested and is safe to drink. The discolouration is due to iron and manganese particles being stirred up by the sudden change in water flow when the main broke.
What you can do:
To help clear the discoloured water, please flush your outside tap for 10 minutes. If there is no improvement, contact us on 07 577 7000
