Air Force Heritage Flight To Headline Supercheap Auto Americarna 2026
The Air Force Heritage Flight of New Zealand (AFHF NZ) will deliver a powerful and crowd-stopping flying display at Supercheap Auto Americarna 2026, celebrating New Zealand’s military aviation heritage while inspiring the next generation.
The Flight preserves historic RNZAF aircraft in flying condition, commemorating the service and sacrifice of those who came before, and showcasing the professionalism, skill and values of today’s Royal New Zealand Air Force.

“The purpose of the Flight is to commemorate and sustain the memory of New Zealand’s military aviation heritage, and to remind New Zealanders, friends and allies of our past shared sacrifice and continued commitment to global security,” an AFHF NZ spokesperson said
Connecting Past, Present and Future
The Air Force Heritage Flight brings together iconic historic aircraft alongside modern RNZAF trainers, creating a striking visual link between past and present.
“New Zealand’s military aviation heritage is part of the heritage of all New Zealanders, so we’re grabbing the attention of people who don’t normally think about aviation and out of that f lows the idea that maybe they could have a career with the RNZAF. This in particular is a benefit of having the modern Texan II aircraft in formation with the older machines.”
A National and International Role
The AFHF NZ also plays an important role in defence diplomacy, demonstrating New Zealand’s long-standing partnerships with international allies and honouring shared history and sacrifice.
“The Flight shows our international partners how much we value the times we stood together, and it honours that shared sacrifice.”
