Call To Celebrate Kaipara Champions
Kaipara District Council is calling on the community to help celebrate the district’s everyday heroes, with nominations open for its 2026 Citizens Awards.

From valuable volunteers to inspiring mentors and community leaders, the annual awards recognise those whose outstanding service, leadership, and commitment strengthens and enriches lives across the district.
Awards and Grants Committee Chair Rachael Williams says, “the callout is for anyone doing great work in the community.”
“It could be the neighbour who coaches the local team, the leader of your community group, a young gun putting their best foot forward, someone in your town quietly making a difference, or the group working tirelessly for the greater good. We want to recognise all those humble heroes.”
“Nominations are open until 30 April – a lengthy nomination period because we know there are many people going above and beyond for Kaipara every day and we want to allow every chance for them to be recognised – let’s get nominating!”
Nomination forms are available at kaipara.govt.nz/funding.
