The Fono is bringing its popular Family Day to West Auckland for the first time, with a free community celebration at Trust Arena, Henderson, on Saturday 14 February from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Following the overwhelming success of the South Auckland Family Day in December, which drew over 1,300 attendees, The Fono is expanding its reach to serve West Auckland families with a full day of entertainment, essential health services, and community connection.

"The response from our South Auckland community was incredible. Families told us they want more events like this across Auckland," says The Fono. "West Auckland has a strong, vibrant community, and we're thrilled to bring this celebration right to their doorstep."

The event will feature free dental checks, immunisations, and health screenings, making essential healthcare accessible right in the community. A dedicated Kava Talanoa corner will provide space for meaningful conversations, while career advice sessions will support rangatahi planning their futures.

Families can enjoy food stalls with free snacks throughout the day, while the Kids Zone will keep young ones entertained. The Youth Challenge Competition runs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, where local youth groups will compete and showcase their talents.

Excitement will build throughout the day with hourly spot prizes and major giveaways including a queen bed, annual gym memberships, food, and family dining and entertainment vouchers. Special guests include popular influencers Life with the Laveas, Slshomecooks, Bruno Tuivai, Sandra Halaholo, and JS Carvings, who will join the celebration and connect with families.

"These Family Days are about more than just fun. They're about building safe, vibrant, and informed communities," The Fono explains. "By combining entertainment with essential health services, we're making wellbeing accessible and enjoyable for the whole family."

The event is completely free. Families are encouraged to register and arrive early to make the most of all activities and services available.
