New Chief Executive Appointed For Hood Aerodrome
Ian Osland has been appointed Chief Executive of Hood Aerodrome following a rigorous assessment and approval process with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Mr Osland currently serves as Masterton District Council’s Facilities and Open Spaces Manager and is also Acting General Manager Infrastructure and Assets, following the recent departure of Maseina Koneferenisi to a new role in Queenstown. Ms Koneferenisi previously held the position of Chief Executive of Hood Aerodrome.
Council Chief Executive Kym Fell said Mr Osland’s appointment reflects both his experience and his strong understanding of Council’s infrastructure and asset portfolio.
“I am delighted to have someone of Ian’s experience, capability and professionalism responsible for the safety and management of one of our key strategic assets,” Mr Fell said.
“As a certified aerodrome under CAA regulations, Hood has significant compliance obligations. The Chief Executive plays a critical role in implementing and overseeing the aerodrome’s Safety Management System, ensuring we meet the highest standards of operational safety.”
Mr Fell said Mr Osland’s appointment provides continuity, strong leadership, and a continued focus on safety and performance at Hood Aerodrome.
