SH16 Helensville Township: Overnight Road Closures For Resurfacing Works
Night-time resurfacing is happening next week on State Highway 16 (SH16) in Helensville, between Garfield Road and Rata Street. Road workers will be removingthe existing road surfaceandpaving it with newasphalt.
The resurfacing is planned over 3 nights, from Tuesday 24 to Thursday 26 February, between 10pm and 5:30am each night. We’re doing this work at night when traffic volumes are lower, helping to reduce disruption for road users.
This road renewal was brought forward due to a change in our programme and resources that became available. We’re excited to deliver this for the community.
During the work, SH16 will be fully closed between Garfield Road and Rata Street, with a detour via Garfield Road and Puriri Street. Please allow extra time, as short delays are expected.
A reduced speed of 30km/h will apply during the day when the road is open, and equipment will still be in place roadside.
Some noise from machinery is expected, but crews will do their best to minimise disruption where possible.
The work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if conditions are unsuitable. Check the NZTA Journey Planner for the latest updates.
