Detours For SH1 Crash Closure In South Otago
Road users are being advised of detours available after a crash closed State Highway 1/Milton Highway between the South Otago towns of Milton and Balclutha.
Police said it was called to the crash involving a truck and a car, near the Adams Flat Road intersection, just before 9am this morning and initial indicators are there are injuries. Road users are encouraged to avoid the area or delay their travel if possible.
For those who are travelling in the area, a detour is available to southbound traffic by turning right onto Adams Flat Road, onto Cross Road, left onto Coe Road, and back onto SH1. For northbound traffic, people can turn right onto Moneymore Road, left onto Elliotvale Road, left onto Allison Road, and back onto SH1. These detours are not suitable for heavy vehicles.
