Reminder - Rail Network Closed From 13-15 April For CRL Testing
Auckland Transport will deploy nearly 100 rail replacement buses to keep people moving while the rail network is fully closed from 13–15 April for City Rail Link (CRL) timetable testing.
There will be no passenger services during this three-day period while we simulate the new CRL timetable, including peak and off-peak services, real-time passenger information systems, and operational technology within the new stations such as ventilation and signalling.
The testing is a critical step toward opening City Rail Link, ensuring new services can be introduced reliably and safely across Auckland’s rail network.
A full complement of replacement bus services will operate during the closures, including express options for Western and Southern Line passengers, with additional buses on standby to respond to demand. Most replacement buses will display real-time tracking via the AT Mobile App, and customers are encouraged to plan ahead using the AT Journey Planner.
People can also use AT’s scheduled bus services which include a range of ‘frequent’ bus services running near train stations that run at least every 15 minutes, 7am till 7pm, seven days a week.
Safety reminder: While train services will not run, trains will continue operating for testing and freight. People are urged to stay alert around tracks, level crossings, and stations at all times.
