SH1 Mangamuka Gorge Closed Due To Truck Roll
State Highway 1 is closed through the Mangamuka Gorge this afternoon due to a rolled logging truck.
The fully loaded logging truck has tipped over and is blocking half of the road. Stop/go was in place earlier today but due to the confined space in the gorge, a full closure is required to allow a crane to undertake recovery operations.
The truck driver has been assessed and thankfully has no injuries.
Road users will need to detour via State Highway 10 or delay their travel. The road is likely to remain fully closed until early evening.
