Metlink Advises Passengers To Act Early, Head Home, Or Stay Home Due To Severe Weather Warnings
Metlink is advising people using rail and bus services to act early, head home, or stay home, as severe weather continues to affect the Wellington Region.
Wairarapa Line customers are strongly encouraged to head home on the 4:25pm service at the latest, to reduce the need for later travel if conditions deteriorate.
All Metlink harbour ferry services are cancelled today and tomorrow
At this stage Metlink buses and trains remain operating, however people are urged to follow official advice, stay indoors, and avoid travel unless it is absolutely necessary.
Passengers should be aware that services may experience delays or disruption due to weather conditions and the influx of passengers trying to make their way home.
Metlink is working closely with operators, emergency management and transport partners to manage services safely and will provide updates as the situation evolves.
Metlink advises passengers to:
- Act early, head home, and stay home
- Avoid unnecessary travel
- Allow extra time for journeys
- Follow official advice from emergency authorities
- Check the Metlink website and app before they travel.
