CADBURY RECALLS CHUNKY CRUNCH CHOCOLATE BARS
Cadbury Confectionery is today issuing a product recall on one batch of its 45g Cadbury Crunch Chunky Size Bar (Editors please note: Cadbury Crunch, not Crunchie).
The product is being recalled because some bars in a batch sold between January and March this year contain small isolated bits of wood.
Although the problem has not affected all products in the batch, to ensure the complete safety of customers Cadbury is issuing an immediate recall of all the units produced in batch 946U (batch numbers are listed under the wrapping flap which runs along the back of the bar).
Cadbury sales staff are working with wholesalers and retailers to remove the batch from their stores and shelves today.
Advertising will run in the media from Monday asking customers to check the batch code on any bars they have. If their product belongs to batch 946U they should return it to Freepost 577, Cadbury Confectionery Limited, PO Box 890, Dunedin, or call the freephone number (0800) 184-030.
Postage of bars or wrappers is free, and customers will be given replacement Cadbury products.
No other Cadbury products, including Crunchie Bars, are affected.
