No Further Comment On Fletcher Challenge Energy Acquisition
Shell New Zealand has no further comment on earlier media reports suggesting it may have specific interest in Fletcher Challenge Energy's (FCE) assets for possible acquisition.
The Chairman of Shell Companies in New Zealand, Ed Johnson, says commercial sensitivities preclude any further comment.
Shell is a joint venture partner with Fletcher Challenge Energy in the Maui(18.75 per cent), Kapuni (50 per cent) and the newly discovered Pohokura field (18.33 per cent). It also has a 49 per cent interest with FCE in the offshore Maari oil field.
