The Directors of Bendon Group Ltd announced today at the company's Annual Meeting that a four cent fully imputed dividend will be paid to shareholders at the end of August.
This follows the release of the Preliminary Announcement of the annual result on 1 June, when the company did not declare a dividend but indicated that the situation would be considered closer to the date of the Annual Meeting.
Dr Ian Parton, the Chairman of Bendon Group Ltd, said today that the Directors had reviewed factors such as the first quarter's trading, which included the results for New Zealand China Clays for the last time, the successful settlement of the sale of New Zealand China Clays, and the conclusion of the share cancellation programme, and considered that it was appropriate to pay a dividend.
"This is the final dividend in respect of the former 'Ceramco' operations," said Dr Parton "future dividends will be declared from Bendon's refocused intimate apparel business. It is anticipated that the interim result and dividend policy will be announced in late November".
The dividend of four cents, fully imputed, will be paid to shareholders on the register on 25th August 2000. Non-resident shareholders will receive a supplementary dividend of 0.7059 cents per share.
