TVNZ News And Current Affairs Opens Central North Island Bureau
TVNZ News and Current Affairs is today opening a Central North Island bureau based in Rotorua.
It will be staffed by reporter, Greg Hay and camera operator/editor Nick Zieltjes.
Their brief is to report on news and current affairs events across an area of the country which includes Whakatane, Tauranga, Hamilton, Taupo, Mt Ruapehu and the King Country.
TVNZ's Managing Editor of News and Current Affairs, Paul Cutler, says the opening of the bureau is part of an increasing focus by TVNZ on regional events, placing further emphasis on depth of coverage by ONE News of events throughout New Zealand. TVNZ News and Current Affairs already has bureaux in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, plus a network of independent camera crews throughout the country.
Greg Hay and Nick Zieltjes have both been part of the ONE News team in Wellington prior to their appointments to the Central North Island bureau.
