Employers Receive Information, Advice
Employers' Federation President Robyn Leeming says it will take time before employers are up to speed with the Employment Relations Act.
She said employer organisations belonging to the Employers' Federation had distributed information guides to all their members, containing advice on bargaining methods and the different forms of employment agreements possible under the new Act.
"Employers are very keen to ensure they meet their new obligations," Ms Leeming said.
"During the early days of the Act, we are cautioning employers to seek advice before making employment-related decisions, in order to make the best start possible and to avoid the penalties contained in the Act."
