Colonial First State Achieves Another Excellent Result
Colonial First State (NZ)’s investment portfolios have produced a top quartile performance for the three months ended 30 September 2000.
For the quarter ended 30 September, Colonial First State’s balanced funds portfolio produced a gross return of 4.3 per cent. This follows a June result which ranked Colonial First State’s balanced fund number one.
Also on the back of a strong June quarter, Colonial First State’s Australasian shares portfolio achieved a gross return of more than 6 per cent compared with the NZSE40 gross index of –1.4 per cent.
Chief Executive Bruce Abraham said the excellent returns for investors were a result of Colonial First State’s focus on quality investments and were particularly noteworthy given the volatility of investment markets over the September quarter.
“This helped significantly in ensuring that investors’ funds were more than protected during a difficult period.”
