Deadlock Breaks On Negotiations With Cleaners
2 March : FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DEADLOCK BREAKS ON NEGOTIATIONS BETWEEN CLEANERS AND SPOTLESS
Spotless
Services and the union representing cleaners at several
Wellington hospitals have negotiated a settlement package,
ending two days of strike notices and retaliatory lockout
action.
The settlement reached between Spotless and the SFWU will be presented to cleaners at Capital Coast Hospitals for ratification next week and is subject to union and management ratification.
Spotless spokesperson Yvonne Treen said “We are pleased that the union has listened to the company’s point of view and this is reflected in the settlement worked out today.”
Exact details of the settlement would not be released until next week. “We are particularly pleased that a key issue regarding the management of change provisions in the employment agreement had been addressed to both parties’ satisfaction in the proposed settlement” said Treen.
Ends.
