Alfa Gives Its Spider Six Long Legs

Alfa Romeo has confirmed that the Alfa Romeo Spider V6 will be launched in New Zealand in time for next summer providing exhilarating performance and a unique driving experience with the combination of the equally acclaimed Spider and the Alfa quad cam 160 kW V6 engine.

Already praised in Europe for providing the Alfa Spider with not just outstanding performance, but a generous and melodic sound track to accompany open air driving, the Alfa V6 engine endows the Spider with a top speed of 223 kmh and it slashes the zero to 100 kmh time to just 6.8 seconds. Like the Alfa Romeo GTV V6, a six speed manual gearbox is standard.

Final equipment and pricing is yet to be set, but the Alfa Romeo Spider V6 is expected to be fully equipped, with power hood, locks, windows, steering, mirrors and windows, as well as alloy wheels and a CD player, and priced alongside the Alfa Romeo GTV V6.

"The Alfa Romeo Spider V6 has already been put ahead of its rivals by European commentators," says Lawrie Malatios, General Manager for Alfa Romeo in New Zealand. "We expect the situation to be the same here, with effortless performance, combined with a rousing six cylinder sound track and classic Italian styling making the Alfa Spider V6 an unbeatable package!"
