Weber Shandwick Worldwide Appoints Vincent Cholewa

Leading public relations consultancy, Weber Shandwick Worldwide, has appointed Vincent (Vince) Cholewa as Account Manager in its Wellington office.

Mr Cholewa was the Senior Advisor responsible for the Commerce Commission’s corporate communications for the last eight years, including the communication of all the Commission’s major decisions.

Weber Shandwick’s New Zealand Chief Executive, Klaus Sorensen, said that Mr Cholewa has an exceptional understanding of the interface between government and business, and expert knowledge of the regulatory environment.

“Mr Cholewa’s combination of commercial and Government sector knowledge adds strength to the Weber Shandwick team. This is particularly so at a time when the Government is moving towards tighter economic regulation.

“More business acquisitions will be reviewed, thresholds for when the law is breached have been lowered while penalties for breaches have increased. Telecommunications, electricity and dairying all face industry-specific legislation. The airport industry is being reviewed, and gas and ports may also be targets for reviews.

“Mr Cholewa brings not only expert knowledge of these changes, but 15 years of experience in public relations and journalism, Mr Sorensen said.
