One News Goes Live With Inspiration
The ONE NEWS Midday bulletin went live today with TVNZ's new computer-based Newsroom - Inspiration.
Inspiration is a computer-based news production and playout system. It replaces the current tape-based format, initially in the Auckland newsroom, with expansion planned for the Wellington and Christchurch newsrooms.
Speed, accessibility and flexibility are the key advantages of this server-based system.
Breaking news footage is available for editing by any number of people as soon as the material starts recording into the server. Stories can be quickly updated or re-versioned and programme rundowns changed in seconds.
Other News programming will switch to Inspiration over the coming months with Breakfast and TelstraClear Business leading the way.
Steve Browning, Project Director for the implementation of Inspiration comments, "This makes ONE NEWS one of the most advanced newsrooms of any broadcaster in the world."
