Farmers Santa Parade Sharing The Christmas Spirit With Plunket
Farmers is delighted to announce Plunket as the recipient of funds collected at this years Farmers Santa Parade.
Held on Sunday, 24 November 2002, the Farmers Santa Parade attracts well over 250,000 people as it kick-starts the Christmas season with the right amount of fantasy, excitement, magic and sparkle.
Fiona Hyland, divisional manager for marketing at Farmers comments; "The Farmers Santa Parade, currently in its 55th year, was started by our founder, Robert Laidlaw, to give the children of Auckland something special prior to Christmas. Supporting Plunket is an obvious choice given the large number of children involved in the parade and on the sidelines."
Anna Paton, NZ Councillor for Auckland City at Plunket says; "We are absolutely delighted to be selected as the charity to receive funds from the collection pre-parade. It is a fantastic event for us to be associated with and the donations received will go towards supporting Plunket and all the work our staff and volunteers do for the children of New Zealand."
Volunteers will walk their way down the official route prior to the start of the parade with collection buckets.
