Time for Dairy Industry to Move On

John Roadley has worked hard to lead the Dairy Industry through a difficult period of change, says Dairy Farmers of New Zealand Chairman Kevin Wooding.

"Farmers voted for a reduction in the size of the Fonterra board, and Mr Roadley's resignation will make this an easy transition for the Board, said Mr Wooding.

"DFNZ welcomes the appointment of Henry van der Heyden as the Chairman-elect. He has some big challenges ahead of him and all farmers will be hoping the issues that have been dogging the company will be addressed quickly.

"I think all dairy farmers will accept the need for change. I hope this is the last hurdle for the board for a while and that they can now move forward to drive the business positively into the future."
