"The New Zealand Business Roundtable extends its congratulations to Dr Alan Bollard on his appointment as Reserve Bank Governor", executive director Roger Kerr said today.
"Dr Bollard is well qualified to maintain the integrity of the Reserve Bank Act and continue the Bank's generally competent record of administering monetary policy.
"In establishing a new Policy Targets Agreement, it is important that the price stability objective of the Act is not compromised", Mr Kerr said. "No changes besides the recent monetary policy review's suggestion of including an explicit medium-term focus are needed."
