Xtra To Unveil Upgraded XtraMail Service

XTRA TO UNVEIL UPGRADED XTRAMAIL SERVICE

Internet service provider Xtra will shortly unveil a revamped version of its popular Web-based email service XtraMail, to make it easier for Xtra customers to access and manage their email from any computer connected to the Internet.

Up to 80,000 individual Xtra customers use the Web-based XtraMail (http://xtramail.co.nz) to manage their Xtra email on a weekly basis, viewing a total of seven million Web pages every month.

The revamp, which is based on research into how customers use the site to manage their email, will make XtraMail easier to get around and more user-friendly, says Xtra’s General Manager Rod Snodgrass.

"The new XtraMail look is cleaner, more intuitive, and easier to navigate. We’ve had a look at what features people use the most, and brought them right up front so they can be accessed from the main page in a single click," says Rod Snodgrass.

Popular features that have been made more accessible include setting-up vacation messages, setting email signatures, searching for stored emails, managing mail forwarding, and setting display options.

The revamped XtraMail will also be the gateway to a range of next-generation email services that Xtra will be introducing in the coming months.

The first of these next-generation email services will be an email alerts to mobile service, which is scheduled to launch later this month. It will enable Xtra customers to receive text message alerts to their text capable 025 or 027 mobile phone when an important email arrives in their inbox.

Xtra customers will use the upgraded XtraMail to set and manage their Xtra email alert rules and profiles.

Xtra customers can already access their Xtra email on any WAP capable 027 mobile. The Xtra email on 027 service lets Xtra customers receive, read, compose, and send emails using their existing Xtra email address, all from an 027 mobile.
