Former Mayor joins Windflow Technology
The former Mayor of Christchurch, Vicki Buck, has joined the Board of the Christchurch-based wind-turbine developer, Windflow Technology. Announcing the appointment, Chairman of Directors, Dr Neil Cherry said: "We're thrilled that Vicki has agreed to become a Director. Her inspirational leadership of our City and strong record of public entrepreneurship adds strength to our company as we enter an exciting phase of our growth."
Vicki Buck is the development manager at Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology. She has an M.A. (Hons) degree and was Mayor of Christchurch from 1989 until she stood down in 1998. Since then, she has been heavily involved in establishing a new state primary school in Christchurch and is working to create a new state secondary school.
A former Director of the Reserve Bank, and member of the Prime Minister's Science and Innovation Advisory Council, Vicki is involved in a wide range of companies and initiatives. She is a director of Jade Stadium Ltd, Brylton Software, Christchurch Markets Ltd, The de Bono Innovation Institute, Hagley Syndicate Ltd and Think Inc. Ltd.
