WDT Grants Licence to Aweco Appliance Systems (Germany)

Wellington Drive Technologies Ltd (NZSE: WDT) today announced that it has granted a licence to Aweco Appliance Systems GmbH & Co. KG (http:// http://www.aweco.de) of Neukirch, Germany. Aweco is the leading European manufacturer of components for dishwashers and washing machines, supplying all major European brands. It has substantial business world-wide.

Under the agreement Aweco obtains rights to manufacture Wellington motors.

“Aweco is a world leader in the appliance industry,” said Dr Ross Green, WDT chief executive. “They are well placed to make use of Wellington's proprietary motor technology.”

He said that in addition to concluding this agreement Wellington had recently received a further development order from Vent-Axia Ltd (http:// http://www.vent-axia.com) of Crawley, United Kingdom. Wellington has been supplying DE066 motors to Vent-Axia since June.

“Vent-Axia is one of the oldest names in the air movement industry and our business with them is developing steadily.”

Made from specialised plastics, permanent magnets and electronics, Wellington’s brushless motor design offers lower noise and longer life than conventional approaches. It also requires less than half the energy to run and can be made in virtually any shape.
