The New Zealand Business Roundtable (NZBR) today announced the appointment of Rob McLeod as the new chairman of the organisation. Mr McLeod replaces Dr Murray Horn who takes up a new position within the ANZ Banking Group in Australia in December.
Rob McLeod paid tribute to Murray Horn who has been NZBR chairman since August 2001. "As chairman, Dr Horn focused on the importance of New Zealanders' attitudes towards business, success and economic growth. He emphasised that if New Zealanders are to enjoy an increase in living standards, our economic policies must be superior to the OECD average. Members of the Roundtable wish Murray all the best in his new role in Australia," Mr McLeod said.
Mr McLeod is chairman of Ernst & Young, chaired the government Tax Review 2001 and is a Commissioner of the Treaty of Waitangi Fisheries Commission.
