Where do you go to find a good kiwi bloke? .......................The local pub, right?

But where do you go to find an honest, reliable, sensitive yet masculine, genuine kiwi bloke, who isn't married, who is oozing with personality, who will cook you dinner and serenade you till the sun comes up?

Try your luck at Fieldays!

This Fieldays you'll not only stumble across a selection of good kiwi farmers...no...you're in for a real treat. The 2003 NZ National Agricultural Fieldays at Mystery Creek in Hamilton will have on display the hottest and most eligible Farmer Bachelors all competing for the title:

'FIELDAYS RURAL BACHELOR OF THE YEAR'

Fieldays Rural Bachelor of the Year is designed to recognise the important role of a true rural bloke and draw attention to their eligibility as a being a snag. Eight finalists will be selected to compete at Fieldays for the title "Fieldays Rural Bachelor of the Year".

Each finalist will be transported to Fieldays, put up in a "Bachelor Pad" at a secret location, fed, watered and chaperoned. During Fieldays, 11th -14th June, finalists will compete in heats to judge their 'Ruralness' and 'Bachelorness'. These heats will include: driving farm bikes, Stihl Chainsawing Champs, delivering pick up lines, bucking Bronco riding, reading poetry, BBQ Factory cooking and many more.

The competition is designed with a classic Kiwi spin to highlight the eligibility and uniqueness of our country's rural blokes. The competition is proudly sponsored by Waikato Times and ZM. So ladies pull out those gumboots, Swanndri's and a bit of lippy and make your way to Mystery Creek in June for the NZ National Agricultural Fieldays.

What makes a good Rural Bachelor?

The Judges are looking for Rural Bachelors with a mix of the following desirable characteristics: " Good Kiwi Bloke " Honest " Funny " Intelligent " Sensitive " Open minded " Enthusiastic " Genuine rural bloke " Genuine single bloke

Criteria needed to enter: " Entrants must be 18 or older as of 1 June 2003. " Entrant must not be married. " Entrants must work in the rural industry - preferably on the land " Entrants must not have had any criminal convictions. " Entrants must be a New Zealand resident " Entrants must be available to actively participate in heats during all four days of Fieldays 11-14 June 2003. " Must be available to travel to Hamilton on 10th June and leave 14/15th June 2003. " Entrants must also post or email a recent photo of themselves (clearly named) to: Rural Bachelor of the Year, PO Box 3015, Hamilton. Or email it to: competitions@fieldays.co.nz
