Signature Sees $5 billion fix it gap
New Owners intend nationwide expansion
Auckland-based home building company Signature Homes and franchise consultant Robin La Pere have joined forces to purchase the Fix It Building Services franchise from building supplier, Carters. Fix It Building Services was originally established by Carters to target the residential and commercial building services and property maintenance markets.
"We are talking about a $5 billion trade-based building services market - and frankly we see a huge gap in this market that we want to fill," said Gavin Hunt, Managing Director of Signature Homes.
"Our immediate plan is to establish a nationwide network of 70 franchises to service this market. Fix It represents a logical extension of our existing business, which includes the Signature Homes' nationwide network of franchised home builders, and sister company Signature Building Systems International, New Zealand's largest private exporter of building components for the international resort and residential housing markets."
As exclusive supplier to Fix It, Carters will continue to use the system as part of their "solutions strategy" of providing full building and installation services as well as products to their retail customers.
"Carters are more
than happy to maintain their relationship with the Fix It
franchise - especially as it's now owned and operated by a
company with twenty years' experience in both the building
services and franchising industries. Things won't change as
a result of our purchase of Fix It," said part owner, Robin
La Pere who will take on the role as Managing Director with
Fix It - previously he has worked for building services
franchise operators such as Winstone Wallboards and Fletcher
Aluminium.
