New Leader for leading conservation partnerships

New leader for one of New Zealand’s leading conservation partnerships.

Project Crimson, a partnership between the Department of Conservation and Carter Holt Harvey, announced today the appointment of a new leader to take the organisation forward.

The newly appointed Executive Director of the Project Crimson Trust, is Bridget Abernethy, currently with Industry New Zealand.

"In the 13 years the Trust has been operating, we have made significant progress in protecting and promoting the cause of pohutukawa and rata," says Devon McLean, Chairman of Project Crimson Trust.

"But the mission is not complete. Project Crimson needs to continue to demonstrate leadership in conserving these pohutukawa and rata, developing new initiatives that highlight the importance of these much loved treasures for all New Zealanders.

"We are delighted to have someone of Bridget’s calibre and experience to provide the leadership the Trust needs going forward."

Debbie Teale, the outgoing executive director, leaves to head Social Investors New Zealand, a new organisation set up to promote effective relationships between the business and non-profit sector.

Bridget will commence her new role with the Project Crimson Trust on 14th July.
