I am pleased to announce the successful sale of the Ascent business of Carich to New Zealand Institute of Studies, a NZQA accredited PTE in Auckland. The sale concluded today provides a solution to approximately 150 foreign students, formerly enrolled with Carich/Ascent at 131 Queen Street in Auckland.
No other acceptable bids have been received by the noon deadline set by the Receivers and accordingly the Receiver will commence the liquidation of the Carich assets over the next two weeks.
The Receivers are working with the NZQA and TEC on the orderly transfer of students to other qualifying providers. Arrangements have also been made for students to recover personal belongings and student records to assist them in registration with new providers.
The Receivers expect to offer the intellectual property assets of Carich for sale shortly. Negotiations with the Tertiary Education Commission to recover monies due to Carich are proceeding.
