Kathmandu creates luxury camping
A new product range for family campers who enjoy their home comforts has been launched by leading outdoor clothing and equipment retailer, Kathmandu.
The basecamp range offers a more sophisticated style of camping and deckware than is currently available.
Kathmandu marketing manager Mark Williamson says the new range is based around the ethos that "roughing it" is an expression, not a necessity.
"Families no longer have to sacrifice their home comforts to go camping," he says.
"Now that basecamp offers a more luxurious style of camping, we believe more and more families will choose camping as their preferred holiday option."
Mr Williamson says basecamp can be a one-stop shop for the entire camping experience, with a full range of products.
"The range includes tents, bedding, furniture, kitchenware, coolers, lights and heating equipment and recreational products such as inflatable pools," he says.
Mr Williamson says some of the products could also be used for other purposes.
"They could come in handy on the family picnic, or entertaining on the deck in the evening."
