Settlement Completed On Skycity Leisure Purchase Of Whangarei Cinema
Cinema exhibition company SKYCITY Leisure Limited today announced that settlement of its acquisition of the Whangarei ‘Cinema City 5’ complex has been completed. SKYCITY Leisure’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SKYCITY Cinemas, has purchased the multiplex for $2 million.
The complex includes five cinemas and is the only multiple cinema complex in Whangarei, a city of more than 47,000 people.
SKYCITY Leisure Chairman David Gascoigne, said the acquisition signals an important development for the company.
“This cinema is the first cinema operation wholly-owned by SKYCITY Leisure. We look forward to working in Whangarei and while it will be business as usual in the foreseeable future, we will be investigating ways in which to develop the current complex to add value to the cinema experience for customers.”
