No Gas Shortage For Consumers

No Gas Shortage For Consumers

There is no shortage of gas for domestic gas users said GASA Executive Officer Garth Wyllie today.

It is a false message that is being given to end consumers that the Gas will run out when it will not he said.

Maui is running down and there may be shortage of Gas for Electricity production but that should be a better reason than ever to have consumers switch to Gas said Mr Wyllie.

Using Gas to generate electricity and then using that electricity for households is wasteful when consumers could be saving gas and money by using it directly .

It takes only a quarter the amount of gas to heat a litre of water than using electricity that has been created from gas fired generation said Mr Wyllie

Consumers should have no fear that they will have gas shortages and in fact they will be the ones that are best off when since they are only 3% of the total gas market and with the new fields coming on stream will have goods supplies well into the future.
