Freedom Air To Increase Services

Freedom Air announced today that it will add a new aircraft to its fleet, increasing passenger capacity by 25%.

The low-cost airline will increase services on existing routes, with new opportunities also being considered.

Wayne Dodge, Freedom Air’s general manager, says the fifth aircraft has become a necessity due to the growing demand for low-cost airfares. “We have been successfully providing New Zealanders with our unique value-based services for nine years, and we believe demand for our services will continue to grow.”

The additional leased Boeing 737-300 is expected to begin services in October this year, with sales off the increased services commencing in April 2004.

Freedom Air recently launched new services to Fiji from Hamilton, Palmerston North and Christchurch. The inaugural flights for these services are due to take-off from April 2004. Freedom Air currently flies Trans Tasman services from Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
