Auckland Airport Gains General Manager - Retail
Auckland International Airport Limited (AIAL) has appointed to its senior management team a general manager responsible for retail. Nick Forbes (34) will assume his position at the beginning of May this year.
Forbes' portfolio will consist of retail concessions, car parks, advertising, marketing and the retail side of the business. He will also join the board of Auckland International Airport's joint venture food and beverage provider, HMSC-AIAL Limited.
Airport chief executive officer, Don Huse, says the appointment of a specialist retail general manager will bring a positive edge to the airport, "retail is the largest single contributor to the company's revenue. With this new appointment comes an added emphasis on providing the best retailing experience to passengers."
Nick comes from a background in the airport retail sector, having worked at Brisbane and more recently Melbourne international airports. "His expertise in the area will be a valuable contribution to New Zealand's busiest airport, and one of the country's 10 largest listed companies."
