New Zealand, 06 July 2004 - Management Information Principles (MIP), a leading data management consultancy, announced today that it has named David Sharp as Account Manager of the newly opened Wellington office. In this new role, Mr Sharp will be responsible for driving new business initiatives on enterprise level accounts.

"David has the energy and experience to lead MIP's sales efforts in Wellington," said Steve Hitchman, MIP founder and Managing Director. "His extensive industry expertise uniquely qualifies him for this new role. I'm confident that under David's leadership, MIP is well positioned to meet the needs of our customers as data management becomes an increasingly important business strategy."

Prior to joining MIP, Mr Sharp ran his own data management consultancy, SharpSystems. He provided strategic advice on the design, development and implementation of data management systems for government organisations such as the New Zealand Defence Force and the New Zealand Employment Service.

Mr Sharp has also previously held senior technical roles in Australia, South Africa and the United Kingdom for organisations such as EDS, where he managed projects across a range of industry sectors including financial services, telecommunications and manufacturing.

"MIP has established itself as a leading provider of end-to-end information management services and solutions. I'm looking forward to helping businesses in Wellington overcome the challenges associated with the efficient and effective management of data. This is now critically important due to a number of international data reporting requirements such as Basel II, Sarbanes Oxley and the US Patriot Act," said Mr Sharp.
