The new 160 BHP Ariel Atom 2

The new 160 BHP Ariel Atom 2

Open Wheeler Imports is pleased to announce a new 116 kW (160 BHP) Honda i-VTEC powerplant for the Ariel Atom 2. Now forming the base specification for the car, performance is impressive with 300 BHP/tonne and a 0-100 km/h time of only 4.5 seconds. Constructed to customer specification in Ariel’s UK facility, the Atom 2 is now available from around $64,900 for a road car and $58,500 for a track-only car, making it the most scintillating drive in its price category.

For those seeking extreme performance, the barnstorming 164 kW (220 BHP) Civic Type-R engine remains available as an option. In this configuration the Atom 2 has almost 450 BHP/tonne available through a close-ratio six-speed gearbox, dispatching the 0-100 km/h run in a staggering 3.7s. With the launch of the new engine, the specification of the 164 kW car has been updated and is now available from around $78,500 on the road or $71,900 for the track.

“Ariel ownership is all about the experience,” says Managing Director Andrew Mackie “whichever engine you choose, you’d be hard-pressed to have more fun than in an Atom.”

More information on the Ariel Atom 2 is available from www.openwheelers.co.nz.
