Captive Food & Beverage Services NZ, in conjunction with The Ascott Metropolis Auckland opens two new food & beverage outlets, Bistro Deux and Cuvée.

Captive Food and Beverage Services NZ, has given new life to The Ascott Metropolis Auckland’s Magistrates Restaurant (now Bistro Deux) and Recess Bar (now Cuvée) earlier this month.

The re-branding and opening for these two new and exciting outlets, has created a French Quarter for food lovers to enjoy in the heart of Auckland’s CBD. Project Manager for Captive Food & Beverage Services, Duncan Fraser-Smith, said: “We are very excited to bring a fresh and exciting approach to eating out in Auckland, as well as being located in one of Auckland’s most iconic building.” Mr Fraser-Smith went on to say, “Having opened many restaurants around the world, there is something very special about giving an existing premises a new look and personality.”

Both premises are located within the historic Magistrates Courthouse, now home to the luxurious five star serviced residence property – The Ascott Metropolis Auckland.

Bistro Deux guests can expect a contemporary French influenced menu in a refined yet casual environment. The focus on efficient service and quality product has been achieved through the executive management team, former operators of Kingsley Steakhouse in Sydney, Atlantic in Los Angeles and Nobu in London.

Executive Chef Sheena Theobald, brings her seasoned talent to the plate, combining some of New Zealand’s finest produce with French Bistro cuisine, perfectly illustrated in one of her specialty dishes – Char grilled beef scotch fillet w pommes dauphinoises, onion jam & port wine reduction.

To carry on the French theme, the new bar Cuvée, will house some of the finest Champagnes France has to offer. Cuvée boasts an extensive menu of Champagnes, cocktails, fine spirits, as well as a light supper menu. The area has been transformed into a stylish, comfortable and modern place to enjoy. Bistro Deux is open daily for breakfast and Tuesday – Saturday for dinner from 6pm. Cuvée is open daily from 11.00am.
